For the Netherland’s “Day of the Composer” on 15 June, Amstel Quartet will celebrate the famous “Hague School” of composition with an exciting program of new music and world premiere performances. Alongside Louis Andriessen’s epic, bebop inspired “Facing Death”, we will premiere Rozalie Hirsch’s gorgeous microtonal work “Adonis Blue”, Samuel Wright’s romantic  “Floating, Soaring”, Maxim Shalygin’s “Idlaviv” (for 4 soprano saxophones!). The concert will also include several remarkable miniatures composed by high school students at the International School of The Hague (ISH).
