Symphonic Cinema

Amstel Quartet streams unheard programmes of past season from remarkable locations. Today Symphonic Cinema from a charming little movie theatre in Amsterdam.

For ages, storytellers have been utilizing the power of music to enhance their stories. Particularly in film, music can strengthen the drama in inconceivable ways.

In Symphonic Cinema, Amstel Quartet lifts up the film music from its supporting role and grants it a place in a concert.

Famous Dutch composer and arranger Bob Zimmerman created two medleys for this programme, today will be your first chance to hear them. One of music by composer Michel Legrand, the other of music from movies by Alfred Hitchcock.
