New alto saxophone falls apart during concert
Friday September 8th Olivier Sliepen picked up his new alto saxophone,
the legendary Selmer Mark VI, a silver one, on which Nico Bodewes, Holland's best repairman made an extra key. During the Amstel Quartet's concert the day after in the Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam, all notes bellow G stopped playing. It turned out a piece of the metal from the new hole for the extra key was stuck in between the pad and the horn. The horn is now in repair with Saxomania to make sure this won't happen again.
